To better understand the anatomic bases of the regurgitation, a water test is performed increasing the ventricular pressure, and the mitral leaflets are thoroughly evaluated. Periannular stitches are then implanted, keeping them superficial to avoid the circumflex artery, the aortic valve and the atrioventricular node.
